Veteran's Park in Williamsburg, Virgina, gets rave Friendly reviews for accessibility. Not only does this park have a 30,000 square-foot lighted playground, an ADA-accessible multi-use trail, sports courts of all kinds, and lots of open space...it also includes a fully accessible PIRATE SHIP for kids of all abilities. Accessibility was clearly a priority in the construction of this park, with many thoughtful accommodations including wheelchair ramps to the pirate ship and center structure, an ACCESSIBLE ZIP LINE, sign language boards, and accessible restrooms.
Picnic shelters and meeting room space are available to rent. The park also has public Wifi--always a plus. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. from April through October, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from November through March.
